Permaculture Camp Photos

Permaculture Camp Plan

Day 1: Welcome to AfriCamp Permaculture Camp. After we check in we will move on to welcoming ceremony and overview permaculture principles. We will have camp orientation and safety guidelines. Campus tour and ice breaking games.

Day 2: Today we will learn about ethics and principles of permaculture. Are you ready for hands on experience? We will design permaculture garden bed. Today goes with workshops on soil health and composting.

Day 3: After morning exercise we will explore of organic gardening techniques. After that we will have workshop on rainwater harvesting and irrigation methods. In the practical session we will learn planting a variety of crops using permaculture principles. Later on group discussion on sustainable agriculture and food security.

Day 4: Today’s course is about biodiversity and the importance of native plants. “Feed for your food for free” session will teach us alternative ways to feed our livestock that get away from high cancer rates and a kifusi way of life.

Day 5: Today we start with discussion urban gardening. By the end of this lesson, students will understand the concept of plant propagation, be familiar with different types of plant propagation, identify tools used in plant propagation, and learn how to propagate banana, chaya, and ginger plants.

Day 6: Today we design permaculture plan for the campsite. Afterwards we will learn how to kake a fire in a 16 Brick rocket.

Day 7: Campers work on their final permaculture projects. We will meet at closing ceremony, farewell dinner and group photos.
